On this Day 553 of the daily poems, the morning sun in this neck of the woods is forecast soon to be followed by an overcast sky. Early June, and indeed a hesitant summer, seen through the sceptical eyes of our poet Gordon Hoyles.
Hesitant summer
In the hesitant summer
of climate change year 2024
the dogmas are barking
awaiting the verdict
of victim power
Not guilty’s their plea
as they say it’s all bad
and going to get worse
with the others
and the victims deluded
will claim it’s a victory
and squabble on resigned
in established stability
