Day 572 – My sensuous summer cookie (Oswick)

Climate change is happening.  And it is scary.  Maybe it’s time for a little light-hearted diversion from that serious subject, as our poet Tony Oswick celebrates his charming summer cookie.  It is Day 572 of the daily poems …

My sensuous summer cookie

Yes you’re yummy, oh so scrummy, how I want you in my tummy,
you’re good-looking, so inviting, pure and fresh.
Your sultry skin is scrunchy, and your body’s extra-munchy,
let me nibble at that soft-brown tasty flesh.

I marvel at your odour, and your nuts and baking soda
while your sugar-sweetened extract sends me wild.
I stutter and I flutter at the hint of softened butter
mixed with eggs and chocolate chips – I’m just beguiled.

Your essence of vanilla is a thriller of a filler
you’re a biscuit gem which I desire to eat.
How I yearn a little nookie with my charming summer cookie
so let’s consummate and make our lives complete.
