Day 717 – November acrostic (Clark)

On Day 717 of the Daily Poems our poet Fiona Clark anatomises November in eight artful lines …

November acrostic

November enters slowly in

Opalescent drifting mists, like a sly

Veiled dancer. Violet twilight deepens to

Early dusk and bonfire-smoky darkness.

Murderous crows peck at the last gritty

Blackberries on the ragged  bushes

Eyeing life with ebony malevolence,

Ravenously stripping the gibbet-bones of Autumn.
