Our poet Derek Adams grazes upon the beauty of the object of his affection’s is. Derek steers us towards the Martian school of poetry, a poetry marked by startling images, surprising visual metaphors, similes, and conceits. It is Day 797 of the Daily Poems.
Your smile
Your smile is the mine of wish.
Your hair is the touch of ache.
Your warmth the explore of close emotions.
Love riddles me with these
and other questions wring my body loudly.
The sum is incomplete without the whole
and time and circumstance elude me
the must of will be, is constant
in its calling to my heartache.
While you step nimbly
around my sense of commonplace
hiding wants in hows
and sowing deeps within the whys
which graze upon the beauty of your is.
