Day 808 – Plensa (Monach)

It is Day 808 of the Daily Poems. Our poet Jane Monach sees the work of sculptor Jaume Plensa
(b. 1955, Barcelona) at Yorkshire Sculpture Park 2011.
The takeaway of beauty – after Gertrude Stein’s Hotel François 1er.

Plensa

 it was light
 faces   height   space

it was language flowing
it was serene inside   past sleeping

it was pleasing a quiet
 no move there

in the landscape
dream girls reversed

around showed unity
 fibreglass   cast iron
trees hugged in crouch
 resinous words
stainless steel gazes moving

 the takeaway
of beauty
