The poet Ernest Dowson was born a bit over 150 years ago on this day 02 August in 1867. One of his immortal lines was “They are not long, the days of wine and roses”. Our poet today Gordon Hoyles sends a brief note “Just a little one to suggest we’re not all bad all through.” It is Day 607 of the daily poems.
As sacred
It should be known,
outside the doctrinaire
we promenading saunter
and hope to bag a tuneful song
