Day 791 – Bus stop (Adams)

Latching on to our new theme of On beauty our poet Derek Adams glimpses an angel through a bus window.  Was this one of those sliding doors moments?   A brief glance and then gone, or a chance encounter that would alter the universe for ever?  Day 791 of the Daily Poems.

Bus stop

The girl at the window
of the Greyhound bus
is smiling to herself.
She is reading Cosmopolitan,
the pages reflect the light
softly onto her face.
The sun catches her
from the side
making a halo of her hair
like an angel, like Marilyn.
